Welcome to HHL Leipzig! Finally I got my VISA (after long and complicated process)

- 16 Okt I got news my VISA had been released
- 20 Okt I flied to Cilacap (for Visitasi DPT)
- 22 Okt I went to Salatiga
- 25 Okt I went to Jakarta
- 28 Okt I flied to Leipzig!
My heart was bursted!

Writing this reflection on my first-three months in Leipzig, Germany, I am struck by the gravity of the experiences that have shaped my path. The fall of 2023 was like a page out of a fantastical travelogue; it was full of exciting adventures, new cultures, and self-discovery.
The adventure that started in Leipzig ended in Amsterdam after having taken me on a once-in-a-lifetime excursion through Basel, Strasbourg, Brussels, Prague, and beyond. Every place I've been, from the ancient cities' cobblestone walkways to the lively marketplaces bursting with enticing scents, has permanently imprinted itself on my soul.
Witnessing RB Leipzig play was an exhilarating event that encapsulated the passion of German football culture and was one of the highlights of my stay in Leipzig. However, I ventured far beyond the stadiums to discover the very center of Germany, visiting towns and cities such as Dresden, Berlin, Weimar, Halle, and Stuttgart. The beautiful scenery, fascinating history, and welcoming folks made every moment very memorable.
Of course, we had to try some local cuisine while in Germany, and it was delicious. Indulging in the flavors of this lively nation, I chewed on every bite of the robust sausages and delicious pastries. In the midst of all the delicious food, I couldn't help but be captivated by the beautiful sound of the Sape, a traditional Dayaknese instrument. One more thing that enriched my cultural immersion was singing and playing music.
The people I encountered in Germany, though, were the ones who really cemented my experience there in my memory. I formed ties that went beyond boundaries when I celebrated Diwali, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the New Year with people from around the world. Having the chance to celebrate Christmas with Pastor Jonathan and his family was an unforgettable experience that brought so much joy and appreciation into my life.
As part of my quest for self-improvement, I decided to try vegetarianism for 22 days, which broadened my culinary experiences and tested my taste buds. Through Andrea's and the church's warm welcome, I was able to interact with the deaf community and take advantage of the opportunity to study Deutsche Gebärdensprachen DGS Teil 1 in Sprächeninstitut, Universität Leipzig.
Thinking back on my stay in Leipzig, I am incredibly grateful for the incredible memories, the amazing people I met, and the welcoming atmosphere that made me feel at home. Every experience, from the serene halls of HHL to the bustling streets of Leipzig, has been a celebration of the wonders of travel, cross-cultural understanding, and self-discovery.
The chapter of my journey that I shall cherish forever was written in Leipzig, with its rich tapestry of experiences.

31 Oktober 2023 - ternyata hari libur, Hari Reformasi Gereja. Gereja pertama di Leipzig yang kukunjungi adalah Gereja St. Thomas
 | Ada patung Johanes Sebastian Bach, komposer terkenal asal Jerman. Ternyata makam Bach ada di gereja St. Thomas ini.
