The Second Half of My Journey in Leipzig, Germany: Embracing Every Beat

Here are the picture of my stories during January - March 2024. I am so grateful to God Who gives me all this opportunities.

Embark on a captivating adventure around Leipzig, Germany, from January to March 2024. 

Immerse myself in a flurry of experiences that have enriched my soul and altered my worldview.

This new chapter, which began in January and has been full of cultural immersion and personal accomplishments, is only getting started. An incredible experience occurred when I performed the Sape Dayak for the first time at the Archipelago festival in Berlin. I wore traditional Dayaknese clothing and accessories. Everyone there felt the music's reverberation as it reverberated through the hall.

Bang Gilbert's birthday was on January 3 and Dhika's was on February 23, so I made sure to commemorate their birthdays while I was on my adventures. These happy times together strengthened the friendships that have carried me during my stay in Leipzig.

My class went on a research trip to Vienna, Austria in February, where we immersed ourselves in the culture while doing rigorous academic coursework. Vienna enchanted my senses and broadened my perspectives with its majestic historical sites and thriving arts scene. In the midst of all the studying, I discovered peace in music, and I would often surprise my teachers and classmates at HHL with spontaneous performances.

I dove headfirst into the Winter Term's lectures, seminars, and assignments, ensuring that I retained as much information as possible. Even though we were all on a tight schedule, there was a feeling of adventure and exploration in every moment.

The awe-inspiring chords of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony resounded across the air at a captivating performance by the Hamburg Philharmonie on March 17th. I was really struck by the eerie beauty of "Ode to Joy" and the profound impact that music has on us. I was completely immersed in the moment, a memory that will last a lifetime, while dressed in my most beautiful Batik dress.

March offered a remarkable event—the celebration of my own birthday—amid the academic challenges and cultural adventures. The overwhelming display of devotion from students, flatmates, and distant loved ones left me surrounded by laughter and love. It served as a poignant reminder of the abundant gifts in life, and I couldn't help but express my thankfulness to the Lord Jesus, whose presence has shone a light on my path.

As March came to a close, I found myself thinking back on the end of my three-month adventure, which had been full of learning, joy, and love. As I rejoiced in the victory of Jesus' resurrection on March 31st, I was overwhelmed with thankfulness for all the opportunities Leipzig has given me.

The experiences I had in Germany during my brief three months there will remain with me forever, serving as a reminder of the life-altering potential of travel, friendship, and faith.
