My MBA Journey in HHL Leipzig Germany | Pingkan Podung

Congratulations! I have a new opportunity to new life, becoming candidate of HHL Leipzig Full Time MBA program.

On June 2023, I was searching for the specific information about the campus in Europe, and I got to HHL Leipzig. Here are some dates that I highlight :

- 1 June : I sent an email to the admission of HHL, "Admission is Still Open?"

- 5 June : I got a reply from Ms. Ellen Schönfelder "The deadline for non-EU candidates passed last week. The deadline is in place to ensure that candidates who require an entry visa to Germany have sufficient time to apply for the visa and receive it before program start in September. However if you were to submit your application by Wednesday 7 June, we can still process your application and include it with all other applications for this year’s intake."

- 6 June : I submitted my application. Got a reply from Ms. Anne Marie Bergmann.

- 13 June  : I got an email from Anne Marie Bergmann that I will have an interview with Prof. Vivek Velamuri on 22 June.

- 15 June : I did consultation with Ms. Ellen Schönfelder (she is really clear in explanation, really kind)

- 22 June : After becoming the sign language interpreter in Holy Matrimony of Vio & Harto, I did interview with Prof. Vivek in Pastor GMIM Imanuel Ranowangko (I won't forget this moment)

- 27 June : I WAS ADMITTED TO HHL LEIPZIG!

- 03 July :  Apply for Studentenwerk (1) for accomodation in Leipzig

- 07 July :  We've sent a deposit.

- 10 July :  Studentenwerk wohnen in waiting list (1) 

- 11 July :  1st time applied to Embassy for VISA Appointment. And I got welcome package from HHL Leipzig. The most interesting one is I got 4 trees to be planted as welcome gift from HHL Leipzig. Here's the certificate :

- 17 July :  Studentenwerk wohnen in waiting list, again (1) 

- 17 July :  New application for Studentenwerk (2)

- 18 July :  Yeay got a room offer in Studentenwerk ^^

- 19 July :  Pre-Class Meeting #1 (Step 4 : HHL Community Speed Friending). I got an email about Appointment Confirmation (1) on 03 August 2023.

- 21 July :  Sent document to ZAB to Germany (for VISA requirement).

- 01 August :  Flight from Manado to Jakarta. Apostille has been approved. Yeayyy

- 02 August :  Access HHL Network.

- 03 August : VISA Appointment (1) at Jakarta (I should re-schedule the appointment) whoaaaa

- 03 August : Pre-Class Meeting #2

- 05 August : ZAB Application has been received in Germany, payment done.

- 10 August : I was in Palu city and got an email to have Visa Appointment (2)

- 11 August : Flight from Palu to Jakarta. VISA Appointment (2) at Jakarta. Biometric done. Yeaayyy

- 24 August :  Pre-Class Meeting #3 (also I got an email from VFS that it need more documents - confirmation of tuition fees payment, commercial register, and bank statement of company) - the roller coaster hadn't finish yet.

- 25 August :  Plan of Welcome Weeks has been released. 

Keren helped me to VFS but the document was rejected (1) - Thanks anyway!

- 30 August :  Mr. Gilang has helped me to resend the additional documents, has been received. Thank you Corpu & Treasury Division who helped me a lot. Galuh, thank you so much!

- 04 Sept : First day of Welome Week (1) yeaay!

- 05 Sept : Join hybrid (Your HHL & Your Program by Prof. Vivek Velamuri)

- 13 Sept : Join hybrid (Leipzig Leadership Model Prof. Dr. Timo Meynhardt)

- 14 Sept : Join hybrid (Leipzig Leadership Model Prof. Dr. Timo Meynhardt) Part 2

Now the process is about VISA National from Germany Embassy. Wish me luck!

I have passed so many roller coaster of MBA Journey to go to HHL Leipzig. May God always be with me.

Welcome to my new turning point of life, MBA Journey!

Honestly, talking about MBA, I've never imagined before to take this major for master.

Since I was a Forestry Student - the only thing I think to pursue my master is about Forestry too.

After 5 years of graduation as Sarjana Kehutanan (Bachelor of Forestry) I think I got an ultimate gift, by the scholarship that is provided by our company - Pegadaian MBA Scholarship Program -

Flashback, when I was in 3rd grade of Primary School, I remember when I visited the office (or home?) of the boss of my father at that time, in Karya Etam Street. I forget his name, but when I see the name board on the wall, it's written (his name) and degree MBA. That was my first time to know about MBA (Master of Business Administration).

2 years of waiting, 2020 Batch I, I couldn't join the selection because of my work experience wasn't enough (2 years from PKWT). Then on 2021 Batch II, I couldn't join the selection because of the same reason. Fully surprise I saw my 3 friends of MDP 1 join this program in Batch II and departed on 2022.

Yes! In the grace of Lord Jesus, I applied for the Batch III that openen on August 2022.

On 13th August 2022, I applied for TOEFL ITP test in Sam Ratulangi University. The fee was Rp 650.000. Thank you to Pegadaian Learning Wallet, I used it to get the test.

 In the end of the month, I got the score, and the score is 503. I was very sad at that time. Should I wait for next year (again)?

Like a second chance.

Surprisingly, there was an "Exended Registration" and I tried again to do TOEFL ITP in Bengkulu Colorado English Course and did the tes online. Praise the Lord, I got better score to apply in the end of application submission dateline. Thank you to Pak DOP, Pak Mus, Ci Lady and all people who supported me to keep applying, in the last day of September 2022.

08th Nov 2022 I joined Gelora Millennials BUMN KM Sinabung Makassar - Surabaya route.

On 08th Nov 2022, when I was in Makassar, surprisingly I got the first letter of result of Tahap I selection.

This was super gift for me. I could't believe He's sooooo kind to me.

Thank you to PEGADAIAN, who gives us fully support to prepare the GMAT & TOEFL iBT test for the requirement of campus applying.

Time flies, 3 weeks of preparation to TOEFL iBT & GMAT Test.

Here we are!

1. TOEFL iBT test with kak Salma on January, 14th 2023

2. GMAT test with friends on January, 18th 2023

After January, second time I came to Jakarta, we went back to our homes.

Facing the reality. Back to work and give the best.

On Feb 9th, I got a suprise call in the night... Thank you Lord, I don't deserve your mercy.

On Feb 17th, I was in Bali (HUT 40 PT) and got the second result of selection...

If I can resume in 3 words, GOD PROVIDES ENOUGH

I am not the smartest, the -est in the class. But, He gives me enough scores to pass, especially this tahap II. Not because of me, I call it as MERCY OF GOD.

Thank you to PEGADAIAN, who gives us fully support to prepare the Academic Writting for the requirement of campus applying. (Essay, Resume, etc)

Our prayer everyday is getting the best campuses for 6 of us. So we can be the good representatives of Pegadaian and Indonesia to pursue our MBA. May God hears all our prayers :)

- Still Waiting Time-

I tried to apply to some campuses, but until this blog is written, I still have no idea :(

 I believe, I keep trying stronger, better, and keep relying on God. He has provided the best for me. Giving up isn't the option. Keep going ahead is the only thing I'll do.

Haiii! Long time no see!!! Since the last post was on October, 11 2020, it's been 2,5 years!

How are you all ? 

I just want to sum up, my life 2020-now 2023 with 1 word. GRATEFUL.

God has led me to beautiful places, and I am so grateful to get the chance. 

Like this fresh-from-the-oven picture, I am so amazed with God's work in my life.

It's been also 1 year for me to be part of North Sulawesi. Adapted with new culture and meet new people.
